The museum, a division of the International College of Surgeons, occupies an historic mansion that offers both beautiful views of Lake Michigan and fascinating exhibits that show the progress of medicine and surgery over time.

Some of the exhibits include The Universal Condition: Enduring and Alleviating Pain, Nursing: Care for a Changing World, and Supporting Structure: Understanding the Spine and Spinal Surgery, among others.
