Surviving the Recession: A Roundtable Discussion

At the 2009 AMWA Annual Conference, Ann Volk, a freelance member from Delaware, presented Surviving the Recession: Ten Tips for Freelances. Early in her business, Ann would lose ahigh-paying customer each year. Which was bad. However, the moves she made during those down times helped strengthen and grow her business and increase her profit. Which was good. Ann has graciously shared her presentation with the GCAC freelance group.

Roundtable Facilitators

Mike Coco and Diane Nitzki-George, both AMWA members, have been running their own freelance businesses for many years. Both have developed strong businesses and business models to help carry them through the recession. They also used the recent downturn to take steps to strengthen their businesses to better survive future recessions. Using the annual conference notes from Ann Volk, Mike and Diane plan to lead a stimulating discussion sharing their own experiences and ideas. Ann's top ten tips are just the starting point.
